Daily Drudge

I've gotten myself down lamenting on the daily drudge. Day in day out...work, eat, sleep....work, eat, sleep...and so on and so on. It's because of the weather mostly. Very cold in the morning, nice while I'm at work, then cold again by the time I leave the office...bummer.

I'll snap out of it I'm sure. I always do.

Hey wait a tick!

The Packers are on Monday Night Football!!!

Next Summer's Adventure

I've set my sights on this bad boy for next year's big gig. This is Broken Top, another volcano in my area. It's not as tall as South Sister, but to reach the summit (that peak on the left) I'll need to do some vertical climbing...a scary thought at the moment but I've got eight months to build up the strength (and the balls) to do it.

Three Years

Today marks three years that I've been here!
It's been along three years filled with alot of great times and alot of sad times as well.
What started out as an adventure almost turned into a disasster right off the bat. I survived though and for the most part I'm happy with the way things have worked out.

After three years I'm still not always sure if moving here was the right thing to do or not. My career is going great and I've made some wonderful friends, but I still miss my old friends and my family. But I guess you can't have it both ways can you?

The sense of adventure is still with me eventhough it gets pushed to the background by the daily grind...BUT IT'S STILL ALIVE AND WELL WITHIN ME!

With the Sisters climb behind me I'm considering a few new adventures for next spring and summer...rock climbing looks like fun (if I could find away to eliminate the possibility of death!) Kiaking is looking more like the thing next year tho. As far as this winter I may go snowboarding a couple of times (its expensive here) I skipped last winter so I guess I'm overdue.

Anyway the adventure continues...three years and counting!

I Did It!

On September 21st my friend and I climbed to the summit of South Sisters. It took eleven hours from start to finish and it was the most difficult thing I've ever done but it sure was worth it. The summit is at 10,380 feet and the way up is mostly loose lava rock. It was a ball buster with a capital B!
